the Family Mental Health Program at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center and is
a clinical associate professor at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences
Center. She has dedicated her career to supporting families dealing with trauma
and mental illness. She has worked extensively with families dealing with
a wide range of traumatic experiences, and she co-chaired the American
Psychological Association’s Presidential Task Force on Military
Deployment Services for Youth, Families and Service Members. Along with her
mother, a teacher, she also writes interactive workbooks for teens whose parent
