[OKAIRP] OKAIRP Spring 2010 Newsletter and Call for Proposals

First, thank you for attending a previous OKAIRP conference or for being recently involved in IR activities.  My apologies if you receive this email more than once, but I want to make sure announcements are sent to the various contact means OKAIRP has available.

The Spring 2010 OKAIRP conference is scheduled for March 26 at Cameron University in Lawton, OK.  OKAIRP is now soliciting proposals for breakout sessions (see attachment).  See below for agenda schedule and the tentative topics already set. Other announcements will be sent out when registration is opened and when the agenda is finalized.  Please forward this to any colleagues whom you feel may be a good presenter or whom may benefit from the conference.

        9:00am - 9:10am              Introductions & Welcome Message
        9:10am - 10:30am            Keynote - AM Session
        10:30am - 10:40am         Break & Networking
        10:40am - 11:30am         Concurrent - AM Sessions  - two breakout sessions
        11:30am - 12:00pm         OKAIRP Business Meeting
        12:00pm - 1:00pm           Lunch
        1:00pm - 2:20pm             Keynote - PM Session
        2:20pm - 2:30pm             Break & Networking
        2:30pm - 3:20pm             Concurrent - PM Sessions - two breakout sessions
        3:20pm - 3:30pm             Spring 2010 Conference Evaluations/Wrap-Up
Fall 2010 Conference Announcement

        Keynote sessions - time TBA - one keynote on IPEDS and the changes this year caused by HEOA 2008 (AIR staff member, Soon Merz) and one keynote on UDS and the upcoming changes due to LEAN at OSRHE (M. Dilbeck and M. Yeager (?))

        Afternoon breakout session from UCO (Cindy Boling) on MS Excel, pivot tables, and statistical calculations

        Tentative breakout session (time TBA) of moderated panel discussion with key people from Oklahoma schools who recently went through HLC accreditation

        Proposed sessions already mentioned to the board that may or may not be selected for breakout sessions

-          Paperless IR office / paperless reporting of data

-          Database organization with MS Access

-          WeaveOnline software

-          Stress relief for educational professionals
Registration options/costs for budget planning purposes:

-          Full day registration:  includes all activities; $50 early registration or $60 late registration (early & late deadlines TBA)

-          Full day registration, graduate students:  includes all activities; $25 early registration or $35 late registration (proof of grad student status required at conference check in)

-          Morning registration:  includes AM keynote, morning break, one AM breakout, OKAIRP Business meeting, and lunch; $30 early registration or $35 late registration

-          Afternoon registration, includes OKAIRP Business meeting, lunch, PM keynote, afternoon break, and one PM breakout; $30 early registration or $35 late registration

-          Videoconference for track selected by OKAIRP Board and hosts from Cameron - TENTATIVE based on agenda, technology requirements, and technology needed, $40 for either full or half-day

o   IF videoconference option is offered, attendee is responsible for getting technical specs and connection info to OKAIRP Board in a timely manner
