[OKAIR] Fall 2012 OK-AIR Conference

It is with a sad heart that I let you know that Marion Dilbeck's wife, Barbara, passed away on August 17.  Marion is a long-time employee at Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and is familiar to most of us through UDS.  Several people have asked about making a donation in her name.  Board members will accept those donations at the Fall conference.  Details about a selected organization will be provided in an announcement closer to the conference.

The tentative schedule is below.  Due to the interest in dashboards, there will be a panel discussion on the topic during one of the breakout sessions.  Vendors have been invited to set up booths.

Elections - two board positions need to be filled this fall.  The time commitment is fairly minimal.  If you are interested or know of someone who would be willing to serve , please send an email with the name, title, institution and brief biography (may want to include accomplishments) to Susy Jorgenson at sjorgenson at ou.edu<mailto:sjorgenson at ou.edu>.

Call for proposals - please use the attached form to submit presentation proposals by September 28.  We can only have as many breakouts as there are submitted proposals.  The following topics have been suggested, but other ideas are welcomed, too.

*         Assessment - successful practices at institutions, anything related to assessment

*         Transfer data

*         What does OSRHE do for me?

*         Data snapshot philosophy

*         Using sparklines in reports

*         Using Excel and/or Access more effectively

*         Mapping

*         New HLC accreditation process and experiences with it

*         Portfolios

*         Breakout groups for Datatel, Banner, etc.

*         Update on Achieving the Dream

*         Surveys - comparing methods used to track overlapping data and answers, what surveys are being used, what does the survey calendar look like, when and to whom are results presented
The tentative agenda is:
