Subject: IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT for SCHOOL-DAY ACT 2014-15!
Importance: High

Hello Cindy: I just received word that invitations for 2014-15 ACT School-Day Testing were sent out to districts in Oklahoma based upon previous responses to the Spring School-Day test for 2014. I want to make sure that every Oklahoma EPAS school has this information and the opportunity to RSVP if interested. There has been a minimum number of testers added to the program (50 students - juniors and seniors only). However, schools who don't believe they have 50 students to test should contact me (Cari.Lousch at act.org). We may be able to request exceptions.

There is a link included in the email message that will take interested educators directly to a landing page for submitting an RSVP. The deadline for testing in the Fall of 2014 is next Friday, February 14! Please share this information as you deem appropriate. The response through the EPAS Listserve for Spring 2014 was tremendous and I know that we had many schools who were interested in participating but unable to commit to that first offering. Oklahoma does have 46 districts participating in Spring 2014 School-Day testing, more than any other state! (There are only 270 districts nationwide, so we are well-represented!)

I have highlighted sections of the message with deadline information for Fall and also for Spring testing. I also added my email and phone information so that Oklahoma educators with questions can contact me directly. The process has been simplified, and a list of key dates for the enrollment process for both Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 has been included.

Let me know what questions you have. As always, I look forward to serving schools in Oklahoma on this important project! :)

Thanks for all you do.

Cari (please continue to the forwarded message below!)

Dear Oklahoma Educator:

Thank you for expressing interest in the ACT District Choice Testing program. ACT would like to invite your district to participate in the 2014-2015 ACT District Choice Testing program.

We are also excited to let you know about a new opportunity for fall 2014. In response to customer requests, ACT will offer three test dates during the 2014-2015 school year-a new one in the fall and two in the spring.

Your district can choose to participate in both fall and spring, or participate in only fall or only spring. If you test in spring, you choose one of the test dates. You can select the option(s) that work best for your district.

Since the ACT District Choice Testing program began in 2007, students in more than 30 states have been able to earn college-reportable ACT(r) scores by taking the test in their own classrooms. Each year, local and state officials across the country tell us about students who decide to go to college after they receive their ACT scores.

Through the ACT District Choice Testing program your students:

* Are tested on what they've learned in high school core courses
* Are exempt from the photo upload requirement
* Feel less stress testing in a familiar environment surrounded by familiar faces on a regular school day
* Receive college admissions scores that are accepted by all four-year colleges and universities in the United States
* May request scores to be sent to as many as four colleges and universities at no charge
* Receive personalized information to explore future college and career decisions based on their strengths, weaknesses, and interests
* Use their scores for financial aid and scholarship applications
* May choose to provide information to help identify opportunities for college admissions and scholarships

Your district will benefit from having access to information on all of your students' academic achievement and college readiness levels to inform curriculum decisions and intervention strategies, and to advise students.

Please RSVP to indicate your district's intention to participate in the 2014-2015 ACT District Choice Testing program. Deadline to participate in fall 2014 is February 14, 2014. Deadline for participating in spring 2015 is May 2, 2014.

Please contact me if you have any questions about the program.

Kind regards,

2014-2015 ACT District Choice Testing Program

Your Role
As District Assessment Coordinator, you will be our primary contact for your district's participation in the ACT District Choice Testing program. During the implementation phase, we ask that you serve as the liaison between your schools, district officials, and ACT. During subsequent phases (school establishment, training, materials delivery, administration, and some post-exam activities), we will work directly with the schools. However, from time to time we may ask for your assistance. At the completion of testing, we will send you an invoice based on the number of students you tested and the type of test administered and district-level reports.

Price
The price for the ACT is $37.50 and $53.50 for the ACT Plus Writing.

Test Dates
Districts may choose to participate in both fall 2014 and one spring 2015 ACT test date or choose to participate in only fall or only one spring test date. Note that all of the schools must select and test on the same day.
