From cbrown at osrhe.edu Mon Feb 2 10:05:38 2015 From: cbrown at osrhe.edu (Brown, Cynthia (OSRHE)) Date: Mon, 2 Feb 2015 16:05:38 +0000 Subject: [Okepas] FW: Leadership Retreat February 13...Rose State College Message-ID: <40725C2F1AA6F1439615D767C663D7754D69C87F@Drake.osrhe.edu> From: McCullar, Alicia Hi, Since March, I have been with Rose State College. A portion of my duties include involvement with the Leadership Program. I have been very impressed with how much support the students involved in the Leadership Program receive. I interviewed 3 first generation college students last semester that are a part of this program. The benefits of the Leadership Program are remarkable. Each participant interviewed spoke of the mentors that they have become connected to as a result of the case management advising. The leadership opportunities and community service enhance the students' experience, allowing them to truly understand community. I also found that every student learned the value of networking and each student voiced how their social capital was increased helping them know exactly how to continue to navigate their educational journey. If you have a strong student that may benefit from this type of scholarship opportunity Rose State is hosting an informational event February 13, 2015. This is designed for the student to have a great time, and at the same time, learn what the program is all about. Limited spots are available so please have your interested students sign up immediately. ***Reminder housing options will be available next Fall. Rose State College has successful students from all over the state including Idabel and Checotah. I would not have felt the need to share if I did not believe in this wholeheartedly. http://www.rose.edu/scholarship-preview Alicia M. McCullar, M.
