[OkStudentPrep] Information regarding the 10th grade PreACT; Testing window has been extended until May 28, 2021

Good morning,
Your district test coordinators should have received this email yesterday at noon. If they did not, please forward this email to them and send me their email address.

Please note, we have extended the PreACT testing window to end May 28, 2021.  The testing window for the PreACT is September 8 until May 28, 2021 – yes, this is very different.  We realize schools may struggle to get their 10th graders tested by November so we have extended the testing window.  This allows you to test your 10th graders whenever it is best for your students/district.

If you have ordered your PreACT and decide not to test until later in the year, that is okay, do not send them back to ACT. Please lock the tests in a secure room when you receive them; you will have them when you decide to test your 10th graders.

Remember, we provide the PreACT for ALL 10th graders, public and private. Even if your district has chosen the SAT, the Student Preparation Office will provide your 10th graders the PreACT. The PreACT offers a wealth of information which begins with the pre-administration part and continues with the assessment. This information helps guide your students, parents, and staff to prepare students for college readiness.

Accommodations and EL Supports

For PreACT, granting accommodations and/or English learner (EL) supports is a local (school) decision based on each examinee’s accommodations plan. PreACT accommodations do not need to be authorized by ACT.

Note: Use of accommodations on the PreACT test does not guarantee authorization of accommodations for the ACT test. For the ACT test, ACT must authorize test accommodations and English learner (EL) supports.
