[OkStudentPrep] Revised Student Preparation Fall Workshops-please read! Register for an overnight conference!

Good morning,
Changes have been made to our Student Preparation Fall Workshops due to the rising cases of the Covid variant that is in our state.
The good news, we will be presenting in person at our 8 non-metro locations.

We will not present September 2 at NSU, Broken Arrow or September 14 at Rose State College, Midwest City, those registration links have been removed, our webpage will be updated soon; instead we will present our fall workshops by zoom on those two dates.

We still plan to have all of the other workshop locations in person, please see attached schedule. If you are not comfortable or do not feel safe attending an in person workshop, the zoom fall workshop is for you. The workshops will be the same so you will only need to register and attend one zoom fall workshop. Information to be shared in person and by zoom will be ACT, PreACT, OKcollegestart, ICAP, FAFSA, OKPromise, concurrent enrollment, concurrent enrollment panel, conferences and more.

We plan to be on site at our other locations which will be smaller in numbers; we ask that everyone social distance and masks are strongly encouraged. I have attached a revised schedule of the in person locations.

Student Preparation Overnight Conferences:
Also on our webpage is our registration for our Student Preparation overnight conferences, https://okhighered.org/student-prep/#spc. I have attached an agenda. The early bird registration fee of $165 pays for your lodging and meals. You will have to have a PO number when you register. We will also accept checks/credit cards. This is a professional development opportunity! It is for counselors, administrators and Indian Education Coordinators. First year counselors would learn a lot from our seasoned counselors during these conferences.

At our overnight conferences, we share information, discuss ways to help students and learn from one another. This is a time and place to relax and meet others who can be a part of your professional learning network.
On the first afternoon, you are welcome to come early, Theresa Shaklee and the Student Prep Team will be available to help you with your ICAP activities on OKcollegestart. In the evening, we enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and visit. The second day we begin with breakfast and sharing of resources and learning from others. We will dismiss after lunch.
We would love for you to join us at the wonderful, relaxing places around the state. You don't want to miss one of these as you learn so much while there. We do have a limited number of attendees at each one, no more than 15 attendees, so please get registered. Everyone will have their own room and we ask that everyone social distance and strongly encourage wearing a mask.
The registration deadline is one month before the event. Our first overnight conference is at Fin and Feather, near Gore, October 10 & 11. Registration closes September 10 for that conference! Please get registered!
