[OkStudentPrep] Scholarship Forum - Tribal Education Departments - all counselors and Title VI Directors/Coordinators welcome

As some of you may remember, in 2019 the Citizen Potawatomi Nation held our first Tribal Education Departments forum. It was really successful, and I still hear from Title VI folks and school counselors how helpful it was. So, on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, 10am - 3pm, the Citizen Potawatomi Nation will host a Tribal Education Departments forum for Title VI and PK-12 Counselors at our Cultural Heritage Center, 1899 S. Gordon Cooper Drive, Shawnee.  We would like for our state’s counselors and Title VI folks to be able to hear from as many TEDs as possible about the various programs available to assist our students.  This will be an opportunity for you to talk directly to Tribal Education Departments about scholarships, academic awards programs, and other programs that are available to support your students and their families.
We will start the morning with each tribe giving a brief (five minutes or less) overview of their programs to the group. We will then allow everyone to visit with tribal representatives directly in a Q & A panel type atmosphere. You will also be able to get handouts, contact information, etc.

Lunch will be served!
After lunch, tribes will have an opportunity to share with the group any programs they may have related to professional development for teachers, cultural activities they can provide for students, and field trip opportunities to tribal museums, cultural centers, etc.
