Quyen Arana (qarana at ou.edu) presented about this device at the ODLA conference (www.odla.org) today. They are developing a game to run on this hand held for 5-7th graders. It's a multi user adventure game with educative content which must be completed during the game play. Right now, they have a few hundred wi-fi equipped devices at some pilot schools. I had a visit with the associated director today about the possibility of WiMAX in the devices which would enable the students to take the boxes home (coverage permitting) Thought you might be interested. It was great to meet you at the NCURA conference and I look forward to talking to you more in the future. Below you will find a link to the resources I have begun to pull together for Subject Matter Experts. I hope to continue to build these resources so that training can be more effective and efficient. The SME website can be found at: http://www.upenn.edu/researchservices/SME/ Next week I am having lunch with a friend/coworker to discuss Wiki's and how they can be utilized to share resources and content for training. Once I get up to speed on wiki's I am thinking about setting up some research administration pages on http://www.wikipedia.org/ . By using the Wikipedia.org site I am hoping that people throughout the country could begin contributing to the research administration content on the site. The site isn't meant to be the ultimate source of information but rather a basic Body of Knowledge that others within the research administration community could use as a starting point. Honestly, the wiki is just a pipe dream at this point but I am hoping that by talking to people like you and others I met at the conference I can at least get the ball rolling.
