This includes not only (a) large scale, modular storage array products for both disk and tape, both hardware and software, but also (b) storage networking technologies such as Fiber Channel and/or 10 Gigabit Ethernet. Job Duties will include: * Working with members of a team of IT professionals to deploy, maintain, and possibly acquire the institution's first and subsequent petascale (multimillion GB) storage systems for bulk archiving of research datasets, with usage and access patterns substantially different from those typically encountered in enterprise contexts.
