From cfisher at osrhe.edu Wed Nov 3 16:45:14 2021 From: cfisher at osrhe.edu (Fisher, Christine) Date: Wed, 3 Nov 2021 21:45:14 +0000 Subject: [Okgrantsmanship] Responsible Conduct of Research Training/UEI Reminder Message-ID: <530f8ccf20ac4319befd49aa2da5b5e1@osrhe.edu> Good Afternoon Colleagues, A recent request concerning Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training prompted several questions around current practices. RCR training has historically been provided by OSRHE for any higher education institutions who do not have their own developed programs. However, since it has been some time since Dr. Mason has been asked to provide the training, it seemed appropriate to take a moment to assess how everyone is handling this requirement. To that end, if you are willing to share, we would appreciate your answers to the following questions: 1. Does your institution have a developed RCR training program? 1. If you do have an institutional RCR training program, what is your approach to conducting the training (structure/content/delivery method)? 1. How does your institution determine who needs to receive the training? Thank you for any feedback you are able to provide on this important subject. This new identifier is being called the Unique Entity Identifier (UEI), or the Entity ID. Grants.gov has begun preparing for this transition by educating users about the upcoming changes and updating forms, field labels and references to the DUNS Number (the current identifier) within the Grants.gov system. Does your institution have a developed RCR training program? 1. If you do have an institutional RCR training program, what is your approach to conducting the training (structure/content/delivery method)? 1. How does your institution determine who needs to receive the training? Also, I have included information about the quickly approaching Ready for Pell deadline November 24. This initiative expands Pell Grant eligibility for people in prison who wish to further their education. A link to the RFP is in the paragraph below, but I have also attached it to the email. Ready for Pell Proposal Deadline is Nov. 24 Ready for Pell proposals are due Wednesday, Nov. 24 to Jobs for the Future (JFF), intermediary partner in Ascendium's $4.7 million, two-year initiative. Ready for Pell is designed to support and strengthen postsecondary education in prison programs in advance of the full restoration of Pell Grant eligibility for people in prison, coming in the 2023-24 academic year. Individual colleges are eligible for grants of $100,000 to $125,000 over two years. Postsecondary systems are eligible for grants of up to $50,000 to support a coordinating function for a cohort of colleges. Grantees will also receive technical assistance from JFF, the Council of State Governments Justice Center and other subject matter experts. Applicants must be Title IV eligible institutions that do not currently administer Pell Grants in the postsecondary education in prison programs for which they are applying. For more details, see the JFF article, view the RFP document or email AskReadyForPell. Have a great week!
