KESAM has developed statewide partnership learning centers at SWOSU, NEO, and CASC, serving K-8 teachers from all parts of the state. The following map of Oklahoma shows the three regions and public schools served in each region in 2010. KESAM has served over 500 teachers directly, and impacted hundreds more and thousands students indirectly in the past few years. This demonstrates the success of the project teaching conceptual understanding of Mathematics in Oklahoma. These partnerships offer an excellent example of the highly effective, high quality program called for in The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), under provisions of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act 2001 and Improving Teacher Quality (ITQ). The evaluations from previous SWOSU OSRHE/NCLB projects verify that KESAM Mathematics Institutes provide the resources, personnel, concepts, materials, and enthusiasm to have sustainable effects on the participating teachers’ pedagogical content knowledge and have a strong impact on the participants’ students’ achievement. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='line-height:200%'><span style='font-size:14.0pt;line-height:200%;font-family:"Cambria","serif";color:#1F497D'><img border=0 width=624 height=293 id="Picture_x0020_1" src="cid:image001.jpg@01CCF092.B3C90950" alt="Description: Description: kesam 2011 ok map.jpg"><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Cambria","serif";color:#1F497D'>Please feel free to share the following information with your list-serves.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Cambria","serif";color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Cambria","serif";color:#1F497D'>Best Regards, <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Cambria","serif";color:#1F497D'>Saeed<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Cambria","serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Cambria","serif"'>Saeed Sarani</span><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Cambria","serif"'>Administrator, State Teacher Quality Program</span><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Cambria","serif"'>Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education</span><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Cambria","serif"'>655 Research Parkway, Suite 200</span><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Cambria","serif"'>Oklahoma City, OK 73104</span><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Cambria","serif"'>Ph. 405-225-9192 Fx. 405-225-9230</span><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Cambria","serif"'><a href="mailto:hdavis@osrhe.edu">ssarani@osrhe.edu</a></span><o:p></o:p></p><div class=MsoNormal align=center style='text-align:center;line-height:200%'><span style='font-size:14.0pt;line-height:200%;font-family:"Cambria","serif";letter-spacing:-.15pt'><hr size=2 width="100%" align=center></span></div><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:10.0pt'><b><span style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'>RE: Oklahoma Mathematics SUMMIT, March 3, 10-12:30, Chesapeake Room, Oklahoma History Center</span></b><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:10.0pt'> <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:10.0pt'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'>Good Morning!</span><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:10.0pt'><span style='font-size:12.0pt;color:black'>Southwestern Oklahoma State University with support from the US Department of Education and the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education is hosting a brief summit concerning improved teaching and learning of mathematics.
