[Coil-l] unCOILed 2026: One and (Not) Done, Call for Proposals!

It's that time of year again! COIL is thrilled to announce the call for proposals for unCOILed 2026: One and (Not) Done: Ideas and Strategies for Moving Beyond the One-Shot Instruction Session!

The one-shot instruction session has long been the workhorse of academic library instruction—but in a landscape reshaped by a global pandemic, the emergence of generative AI, and rapidly shifting student and faculty expectations, a single session can feel more like a starting point than a solution. This year's unCOILed invites us to ask: What comes after the one shot?

We want to hear about the experiments, partnerships, and creative ideas expanding what library instruction can look like—from embedded librarianship and flipped classroom models to gamification, asynchronous tutorials, and new kinds of campus programming. We're also interested in the work that surrounds and sustains instruction:

- Building relationships with departments and faculty
- Assessing the impact of instruction
- Connecting with students in new and meaningful ways
- Marketing library instruction to your campus
- Piloting innovative tools and technologies

Whether you're sharing something polished, piloting something new, or honestly wrestling with what isn't working yet—we want to hear from you.

unCOILed 2026 will be held on Thursday, July 23rd at OSU Stillwater, Edmon Low Library (Peggy V. Helmerich Browsing Room).
