I have a conference call with D2L this afternoon to discuss downtime estimates while replacing the exsiting Windows 2003 app servers with Windows 2008. We will need to upgrade the test app server to Windows 2008 before we can deploy 10.2. During our conference call I will emphasize the importance of getting our test app server upgraded to Windows 2008 so that we may get 10.2 installed on test.
I will send out an email as soon as I have more information.

I think it would be wise to schedule prior to FUSION. Once the colleges see this demonstrated at FUSION. The slots for the foreseeable future will be booked. Last time, we had to wait until Spring Break which wasn’t fun!

I realize this is when most campuses are closed for the break but our classes start on Wednesday, January 8th and doing it on Thursday or Friday prior to this would not give our folks much time to familiarize themselves with the new interface. If this is not possible, we could let our instructors access the TEST environment to start looking at it.

Perhaps the group could meet prior to heading to Boston and discuss D2L status. I will schedule an upgrade to TEST as soon as possible. May I also schedule a tentative upgrade to PROD on January 2nd or 3rd? That will give us time to train on our TEST site before we go live with the new version.

I'm still not convinced about the user-interface as a whole and its stability, but what they showed in the webinar looks promising.
