From frank at onenet.net Mon Feb 3 11:22:02 2014 From: frank at onenet.net (Frank Hedges) Date: Mon, 3 Feb 2014 11:22:02 -0600 Subject: [D2l-alert] Install Certificate for D2L. Message-ID: We need to install the D2L certificate for Rose. The certificate expires on 2/6/2014 so we would like to install this certificate Tues evening. It will cause a very brief (few seconds) interruption to the Rose site while we install the new certificate. Regarding the storage maintenance we had planned on Sunday at 3:00pm, we did not perform that maintenance. We do need to perform that maintenance and would like to coordinate it with the certificate installation for the Rose site. Again the total downtime is expected to be seconds but will reserve a 5 minute window. Would Wednesday at 7:30am be acceptable with everyone. (By the way, this issue has already been reported to D2L, and according to the D2L Community Website, it will be fixed in the next, small "bug fix" upgrade, which I hope to implement as soon as possible.) In a nutshell: if you upload comment documents for your students into the D2L Dropbox Feedback area, but do not have anything typed in the "Feedback" text editor box, your students will not be able to see the documents or score you posted. The workaround for this issue is very simple (though perhaps a bit cumbersome for those that have already published multiple feedback documents). See the image below for more information: 1. Return to the Dropbox feedback screen. 2. Type SOMETHING (a period or other non-descript punctuation mark will work fine, or you can copy and paste the following sentence: " See the Attached File below for assignment feedback. " 3. Click the "Update" button. This will make all your feedback (including the uploaded document) visible to your students.
