And the winner is--- 

The winner of the search for the second "Eastern Idol" ended Wednesday
evening as Kendra Click was named winner of the Judges Choice Award! Kendra
is a freshman Agriculture Education major from Muldrow. She performed "Jesus
Take the Wheel" while accompanied by a CD. Kendra received a trophy and a
bouquet of flowers. 


The winner of the Audience Choice Award went to Vanessa Tillery. Vanessa is
a sophomore student from Panola who majoring in Psychology. She performed a
composition while accompanying herself at the piano. Vanessa also received a
trophy and a bouquet of flowers. 


Congratulations also goes to Kendra who was the winner of the "Eastern Idol
Imitator" competition on Tuesday night! 

CONGRATULATIONS, LADIES!

Eastern Idol finalists were duo Kendra Click and Daniel "Big Dan" Bacorn,
Quinton freshman Agriculture Education major; Veronica Allen, Wilburton
sophomore Music major; and Billy Roberts, freshman Computer Technology major
from Antlers.

Special thanks to the judges for the two-day event, Dougo Sims, Ruth
Brelsford, and Justin "Tubbs" Kennedy for taking time out of their extremely
busy schedules to help us with this event. Carly Jones, an Eastern graduate
who is attending Northeastern State University, was a master emcee. A
special thanks also goes to the theatre students who provided the sound and
lighting. Thanks also to Keith Lewis, Kay Langham, and Elizabeth Duncan.
Special thanks to local merchants Jerri Marley of Talbot Flowers and Gifts
and Sunny Cullums of The Trophy Shop, and Neil Enis and EOSC Horticulture
Department.
