Eastern vs. Murray

The Mountaineers and Lady Mountaineers were victorious over Murray State 
lastnight.  The women won 73-68 and improved on their two game winning 
streak with a record of 9-10, led by freshman Shaqualla Alexander of 
Wewoka with 23 points.  The Mountaineers played really well and pulled 
out the win with a 59-54 score and adding another win to their record of 
2-16 led by Robert Givens, freshman from Talequah.  Despite both team's 
record at this point, a new season is about to begin.  On January 31 the 
most exciting basketball competition will begin!  The men and women will 
play host to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M at 6 and 8 pm in the C.C Dunlap 
Gymnasium.   This will begin conference play and the countdown to the 
Region II tournament.  There are 5 teams in our conference:  Eastern, 
Carl Albert, Northeastern A&M, Connors and University of Arkansas-Fort 
Smith.   The top four teams of the conference will head to Shawnee 
Oklahoma for the Region II tournament in March.
