I have included a list of students who are eligible to join Phi Theta Kappa
for the Fall 2008. Phi Theta Kappa is the honor society for Community
College Students and is an International organization that offers transfer
scholarships to most colleges and universities in the State of Oklahoma as
well as across our nation.
Please look to see if your name is on the list. I will send a personal
letter two ways this semester. I will include attachments via your Eastern
e-mail account and also a mailed letter. We will do everything possible to
give the letter personally to those who live in the dorms, all others will
go out in the mail. Please check your Eastern E-mail account if your name is
on the list as you can download and print the information and read through
it ASAP.
The requirements for membership of the honor society Phi Theta Kappa are:
. You must complete 12 hours of college credit
. After the completion of 12 hours up to 29 hours the student must
have a cumulative GPA of 3.75
. After completion of 30 hours and above, the student must have a
cumulative GPA of 3.5
. No I's on the students transcript are allowed for membership into
PTK
If you feel you should be on the list and are not, please let me know ASAP
by either e-mail (bkennedy at eosc.edu) or call my office at 918.465.1745. I
certainly will be glad to check and include your name if it should be on the
list this semester.
