Happy Halloween and Happy Homecoming week everyone!

This is going to be a VERY BUSY WEEK at Eastern! Of course with today
being Halloween, be sure and watch out for ghouls and goblins lurking
about. (I've decided our Cafeteria ladies must be Smurfs since they
wear all blue, all the time, just like Smurfs.) Ali tells me the
Bookstore crew is going to come as Alice in Wonderland, so be sure and
get down there and see them. They always put out a lot of effort to get
costumes for the whole group, so go by and check them out. Starting
with this evening's Community Halloween Carnival, Boo Parade, Trunk or
Treat and Haunted Dorm, there will be plenty of activities of all types.

Tuesday there will be a Frozen T-shirt Contest at 4:00 p.m. at the Clock
Tower, followed by basketball games starting at 5:30.

Mountaineer Mania (formerly Mountaineer Monday) is schedule for
Wednesday of this week, so there will be lots of high school kids from
all over coming to check out Eastern. Minute to Win It games will be
held at the Clock Tower at 4:00, followed by the much anticipated Mr.
Eastern pageant in Mitchell Auditorium at 7:00.

Thursday evening brings more Minute to Win It games at 4:00, followed by
a crazy comedy show, Mission ImPROVable, to Mitchell Auditorium, which
should be a LOT of fun.

Friday will hold the Pep Rally in the Field house, the first half of the
2 day Class of 1959-60 reunion from 3:00 to 9:00, the Hall of Fame
Banquet, and if you get a chance to listen, the WHS vs Hartshorne,
Battle of Gowen Mountain, will be broadcast on Mountaineer Radio that
evening, also.

Saturday will bring the Hilltoppers Breakfast for Eastern retirees, the
Homecoming Parade, Tailgate party, Track and Field reunion with an
Eastern favorite, Coach Glen Stone, and Homecoming games, with the
coronation of the new king and queen taking place between the games.

In downtown Wilburton on Friday, there will be a Health Day, hosted by
the Lion's Club and the Living in Latimer Coalition. Call 918-465-3381
for more information on this.

Saturday will be Recycle Day at the OSU Extension Center parking lot.
Please bring your recyclables here and do your part to save the planet.
Call 918-465-3349 for more information on this very worthwhile event.

Eastern birthdays this week include, Paula Ogden of our Custodial Dept.
on Tues. and instructors Ruth Brelsford and Lee Anne Schweitzer who
share a birthday on Sunday, Nov. 6.

Our menus for this week include:

Have a great Homecoming Week at Eastern,
Rhoda :-)
