[Eoscstudents] Workshops

Student Support Services just completed their Summer Workshops for 
in-coming freshmen enrolled in non-credit classes.  Although we sent 
invitations to quite a large group, we only had 15 attend over the 
course of 2 days.  However, the workshops went well, and the students 
were a very nice group.  I want to extend my thanks to Alana Bray from 
the Business Office and Tina Ray from the Counseling/Admissions Office.  
They delivered workshops for us.  Also, a special thanks to June Haynes 
who came in and worked for the workshops as well.

I also need to announce that for the full week next week, all SSS 
Participants can, and should, come in and do their mandatory workshops 
on CD.  Just come in and see Kathy Howe to do those.  If you attend 
school in Idabel or McAlester, you can call Kathy at 918-465-1860 to 
make arrangements to do those workshops.  Remember, they are mandatory!

This semester, Kathy will be going to the McAlester Campus on Mondays to 
meet with SSS participants in order to give those students a chance to 
make contact so they can maintain their "active" status in the program.  
Active students have an opportunity to apply for a scholarship through SSS.

You may call Ms. Howe at 918-465-1860 to make arrangements for the CD 
workshops.
