Hi folks,

I hope you all had a great Homecoming Weekend, and got to participate in lots of the activities. It's always a crazy busy week full of lots of fun events and everyone is ready to collapse at the end of it, but with lots of great memories to last a lifetime. Congratulations to both our Mountaineers and Lady Mountaineers and their coaches for winning both the Homecoming games! That always makes Homecoming extra special! And congratulations to our new Homecoming Royalty, Queen Katelynn Atchley representing Softball, and King Jake Wood representing Baseball. The Spirit Stick this year was won by the Women's Basketball team, and the winning float from the Homecoming parade was won by the Math and Science Club. Congratulations to these groups for all the hard work, skill, ingenuity and Eastern spirit they put forth to win these awards!

This week is looking pretty busy on campus, also, with current student enrollment taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday, Mountaineer Mania on Wednesday with hundreds of potential Mountaineers touring campus and learning what Eastern has to offer, a Land Auction in the Ballrooms on Thursday, and a Board of Regents meeting on Friday. And of course, don't forget to GO VOTE on Tuesday! Our local senate seat is up for grabs, as well as the Presidency. There are several state questions on the ballot as well, so try and do a little homework on them before you go to the polls.

There are several special birthdays on campus this week, as well as one I missed from yesterday (Alaina Bray, our Comptroller). Tuesday, a couple of my favorite ladies on campus will celebrate their birthdays, Speech Professor Ruth Brelsford, and English Instructor LeeAnne Schweitzer. And Thursday, President Smith's right hand gal, Marci O'Donley will celebrate her big day. Also, this coming Sunday Nov. 11, Dean of our Business Division, Kay Langham, will be celebrating her birthday. Please wish them all the very best day ever!

Lunch menus for the week include:

Monday: Hamburger steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, cabbage, corn, hot rolls, carrot cake, and spicy tomato soup.

Tuesday: Chicken parmesan over pasta, steamed broccoli, fried squash, bread sticks, cherry cheesecake, and vegetable beef soup.

Wednesday: Pork loin, mashed potatoes and gravy, blackeyed peas, macaroni and cheese, fresh spinach, hot rolls, peach cobbler, and potato soup.

Friday: Beef goulash, fried okra, vegetable blend, hot rolls, or fish on a bun with fries, fudge brownies, and chicken noodle soup.

Dinner menus include:

Monday: Breakfast bar: French toast, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, biscuits, hash browns or tuna salad subs with chips, ice cream with toppings.

Tuesday: Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, cauliflower with cheese sauce, English peas, or grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup, chocolate chip cookies.
