Hi folks,

The cooler temperatures and rain have been a nice change from the extreme heat and dryness we had been experiencing this summer. I've even seen a few leaves beginning to change into their beautiful fall colors already!

If you've ever admired beautiful crocheted throws, sweaters, baby blankets or other items, here's your chance to learn to create these keepsakes for yourself. Come to the crochet class offered for free at the Public Library this evening and for several more Monday evenings. Teachers for this class are a couple of Eastern favorites, Lin Anderson and Lila Clay. Just bring a G, H or I crochet hook and a skein of light colored, non-variegated yarn, and begin to learn this wonderful skill to pass on to your children and grandchildren, along with a lot of the beautiful things you'll make for them.

Tuesday and Wednesday, don't forget to have your picture taken here in the EOSC Cafeteria between 9 and 3 for the next Mountaineer Yearbook! This includes all students, staff and faculty. Let our wonderful yearbook staff capture your best look for posterity.

There will be a special program on the dos and don'ts of FaceBook Etiquette on Wednesday evening at 6:00 in the Ballroom, provided by Student Services. This is open to both students and staff. Come learn about acceptable and unacceptable behavior on FaceBook from college dean, Cindy Daugherty.

Thursday, be sure and fill up those Shred-It bins. They'll be around to empty them Thursday morning.

Friday, our Board of Regents will hold their monthly meeting on campus.

Eastern Birthdays for this week include Student Support Services' Cindy Waldrop on Tuesday, and Gear Up's Linda Morgan on Wednesday. I hope both of these wonderful ladies have a very special day.
