-You do not have to be a Theatre Major to audition.
 
-Please prepare a 1 minute monologue to be considered for the larger rolls.
 
-Those without a monologue will still have the opportunity to cold read and play theatre games.

Theatre Courses 
 
Offered This Semester
 
 
 
Acting I:  
 
10:10-11:30pm Tuesday/Thursday, Mitchell Auditorium 
 
            Learn basic skills such as script analysis, projection, and character development.  This is a GREAT introductory course into the world of theatre.  Whether you wish to make theatre a hobby or career, everyone starts in an Acting 1 class.   
 
 
 
Stagecraft:
 
            12:30-2pm Tuesday/Thursday, Mitchell Auditorium 
 
            This is an introductory course to the world of Stagecraft.  The class covers basic skills necessary for theatre construction, lighting, sound, costume, makeup, stage management, etc.  If you’re interested in theatre, but don’t like the idea of performing, this is the ideal class for you!
 
 
 
Play Writing:
 
            1-3:30pm Wednesday, Mitchell 109
 
            Ever wonder how great stories for the stage and screen are written?  If so, this is the class for you.  Explore the art of creative writing for the stage as you and your classmates create and share your work.  Students enrolled in Play Writing will have opportunities to submit their work to the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.
