Oklahoma Campus Compact Members:

 

Congratulations to Oklahoma's higher education institutions  for setting  a
new record this year for institutional participation in the Oklahoma Campus
Compact Voter Registration Contest in an off-election year!  19 members of
Oklahoma Campus Compact participated by registering 1,530 students to vote
during the five days (Sept. 16-20).  Everyone worked hard, and along with
the winners, we want to give a shout out to the runners up.  The final
results for all participating institutions with the number of students
registered and proportion to full time enrollment are attached.

 

Join us in congratulating the winners of the 2013 Voter Registration
Contest:

 

RED (institutions 1 to 3,000 FTE)

Winner:  Eastern Oklahoma State College (11.1%)

Runner Up:  Murray State College (7.4%)

 

WHITE (institutions 3,001 to 7,000 FTE)

Winner:  Northern Oklahoma College (2.53%)

Runner Up:  Cameron University (2.46%)

 

BLUE (institutions 7,001 to 30,000)

Winner:  University of Central Oklahoma (3.2%)

Runner Up:  Northeastern State University (0.6%)

 

The winning institutions will be invited to attend the December 5, 2013
meeting of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education for presentation
of their award.

 

Oklahoma Campus Compact's Campus Vote Advisory Committee will meet this
spring to discuss and plan next year's Campus Vote work, including the idea
of extending the parameters of the Voter Registration Contest beyond one
week, to include the work campuses do over the summer with new students, up
to the state voter registration deadline.  We welcome your input if your
campus would like to join the discussion on enhancing student civic
engagement.
