Happy Homecoming Week!

There will be lots of activity on campus this week, all of it leading up to the Homecoming festivities on Saturday, with the Homecoming Parade downtown at 11:00, followed by the annual cookout, a new fun game called Bubble Soccer, where the players are in large inflated plastic bubbles, running, rolling and bouncing all over the place, and of course, the Homecoming Basketball Games and crowning of this year's royalty.

Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., our campus clubs and organizations will be participating in the Window Painting competition, by painting a section of the windows on the North side of our Student Center. The theme for this competition is Discover You.

Also on Monday, at noon, there will be a Minute to Win it competition for Spirit Stick points in the Amphitheatre, and at 6:00 there will be a MEGA Hide and Seek Game held.

Tuesday, students can participate in a Door Decorating Contest in the Residence Halls, showing their Eastern spirit. (This must be completed by 4:00 p.m. to be eligible for judging.) Prizes will be awarded! Also on Tuesday, there will be a Blue and Gold Half Mile, set up like a mini color run around campus.

Tuesday at 6:00 there will be Women's and Men's Basketball games in the Fieldhouse. The new pep group, the Mountaineer Maniacs will be there to cheer the teams on to victory!

Wednesday, will bring the Big Draw, a sidewalk chalk art competition (weather permitting), where each club or organization will be allotted a section of sidewalk to create a mural depicting Eastern Spirit.

Wednesday night at 9:00 p.m. there will be a Blacklight Dance in the Ballroom.

Thursday there will be a second Minute to Win It competition for Spirit Stick points in the Amphitheatre at noon, and the long awaited Mr. Eastern pageant will beheld at 7:00 in Mitchell Auditorium. In this competition, several of or handsome Eastern men get in touch with their more feminine sides as they compete in a hysterical "Beauty Pageant" as ladies.

Friday, there will be a Pep Rally in the Fieldhouse at 3:30. Contact Paige or anyone in Student Services for more information about any of these events.

EOSC birthdays this week include some of my favorite ladies, as Thursday Nov. 6 both Professor LeeAnne Schweitzer and Professor Ruth Brelsford will celebrate their big day, and on Saturday, Marci O'Donley, Dr. Smith's Administrative Assistant, will celebrate her birthday. Please wish them all a wonderful day!
