Hi folks,
 
It was a great weekend, finished off with a little rain last night, which I believe is supposed to help with the fall coloring in the leaves.  We're lucky to live in an area where we have lots of trees and lots of beautiful foliage starting around this time of year.
 
The annual Eastern Oklahoma State College Music Department Fall Concert will be held on Thurs. Oct. 9 at 7:00 p.m. in Mitchell Auditorium and will feature the debut performance of its new rock/pop ensemble, the Eastern Expressions, as well as the traditional concert choir and band.  The concert is free and the public is welcome.  More information is available on the Eastern website.
 
Sat. Oct. 11 brings the annual EOSC Employee and Family picnic.  All EOSC employees and their families are invited to attend.  The event is tentatively scheduled for Robber's Cave State Park, but in the event of possible rain, will be moved to the Goddard Building.  If held at the park, please bring your own lawn chairs.  Hamburgers and some hot dogs for the kids are on the menu, prepared by the great cooks from our Agriculture Department  Also, please bring a dessert to share with everyone.  
 
Eastern birthdays for the week include:  Nursing instructor, Maye Durant and Ag Department Administrative Assistant Rhonda Price Quinn, both on Wed. Oct. 8.  Happy Birthday to both you gals!     
 
Lunch menus for the week include:
 
Monday:  Chicken parmesan with garlic bread sticks, steamed broccoli, corn on the cob, potato cubes, Tuscan blend vegetables, yellow cake with chocolate icing.
 
Tuesday:  Baked pork chops, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, breaded tomato casserole, black eye peas, fried okra, steamed spinach, hot rolls, earthquake cake.
 
Wednesday:  Swiss steak, buttered red potatoes, green beans, rice, steamed carrots, Monterey blend vegetables, hot rolls, blonde brownies.
 
Thursday:  Cheesy ham and potato casserole, zucchini and tomatoes, corn, red beans and cornbread, chocolate delight.
 
Friday:  Chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and white gravy, or fish sandwich with waffle fries, baked potatoes, BBQ beans, Brussels sprouts, cookies.
 
Dinner menus include:
 
Monday:  Oven fried chicken, mashed baby redskin potatoes with gravy, biscuits, pinto beans, buttered bowtie pasta, corn nuggets, Capri blend vegetables.
 
Tuesday:  BBQ Night-BBQ smoked sausages, BBQ chicken breast, BBQ beef, macaroni and cheese, potato wedges, baked beans, potato salad.
 
Wednesday:  Dorito bake, ranch beans, corn, rice, Mexican cornbread, fried okra.
 
Thursday:  Wing Night-Hot wings, BBQ wings or ranch wings with fries or onion rings, steamed cauliflower, rice pilaf, green beans, mixed vegetables.
 
Friday:  Meatball subs or spaghetti with meatballs, garlic bread, curly fries, corn on the cob, mixed vegetables.
