[Eoscstudents] Movie Night - at dusk (should be about 8 p.m.) Kick off to Voter Registration week!

We hope you will come out and join us at the Amphitheater (behind the
Student Center) !

 

Movie will begin tonight around 8 pm. Come out, bring your pillows and
blankets (or chairs), enjoy and outdoor movie that is based on a true story.
Popcorn and drinks will be provided!!

 

Iron Jawed Angels starring Hilary Swank, Frances O'Connor, Julia Ormond, and
Anjelica Huston tells the story of how defiant and brilliant young activists
Alice Paul and Lucy Burns took the women's suffrage movement by storm,
putting their lives at risk to help American women win the right to vote!
Their motto: Lead, Follow, or Get out of the way!  

 

Voter registration week is a contest for Eastern against all other colleges
and universities in the state of Oklahoma.  We are competing to see how many
students/staff/faculty we can register  (Who:  New registrations, change of
address, or change of name).  The PTK Officer team will be working hard this
week to garner as many registrations as possible!! $100 cash will be given
away in a drawing on October 7th. Details on how you can enter are available
from your Instructors and also at events this week. 

 

Today is an important time in our history.  Every day is a day to be
civically engaged.  There are State and Local races along with 9 State
Questions that are of upmost importance to you and I where we live, go to
school, and work every day.
