Hello all,

I want to remind you all of the classes and opportunities offered in Mass
Communication department. This semester you can take Video Production, News
Reporting, and Publication Production. While we do have a degree program,
you do not have to be a major to take any of these classes. You have until
Monday, Aug. 19 to add classes, so talk to your adviser or a counselor
about getting enrolled.

We also have a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience
with Mountaineer Radio. If you are interested in learning more, please
contact Mountaineer Radio at 918-465-1410.

*MCOMM 1101 - Publications Production Th 12:45-2*
Practical lab experience for basic techniques in reporting, editing, layout
and design, photography, and/or advertising.

*MCOMM 1213 - News Reporting MW 11:15-12:30*
Study of the fundamentals of journalistic writing with emphasis on the
elements of news gathering and news writing, advertising and press
photography, copy editing, and page make-up, with increased experience on
the college publication.

*MCOMM 1223 - Video Production I MW 1-2:15*

Theory and practice of basic video production techniques leading to
applications in television and post-production. This course is designed to
instruct the student in the fundamentals of broadcast journalism using the
single camera approach of electronic news gathering.
