Eastern Oklahoma State College is committed to protecting the security of
campus and the safety of students, faculty, staff and visitors.

The 2020 Eastern Oklahoma State College Annual Security and Fire Safety
Report is attached and available on the College’s website at
http://eosc.edu/safety. The report will automatically download as a PDF
document.

In keeping with the mandates of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus
Security Policy, Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) and the Violence
Against Women Act, Eastern Oklahoma State College publishes and distributes
the College’s Annual Security and Fire Safety Report by Oct. 1 each year.
This year, the U.S. Department of Education extended the date for
institutions to distribute the report to Dec. 31, 2020 due to a delay in
opening the Department’s annual crime and fire statistics survey due to
COVID-19. The survey was opened by the U.S. Department of Education on Nov.
18, 2020.

The report contains statistics (for the past three years) of certain crimes
that are reported and that occurred on campus, in certain off-campus
buildings or property owned or controlled by the College or an officially
recognized student organization, and on public property within or
immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus for the three most
recent calendar years. Also included are campus security policies including
those related to missing student notifications, alcohol and drug use,
sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking, crime prevention and
the reporting of crimes. The statistical data can be reviewed in the
attached report or on the U.S. Department of Education’s Campus Safety and
Security website at http://ope.ed.gov/security.

The Campus Security and Fire Safety Report also contains statistics about
the number of fires in on-campus housing, the cause of each fire, the
number of injuries and deaths, and the value of property damaged. The
report also includes a description of fire systems, the number of fire
drills, evacuation procedures, education and training programs, future
plans for fire safety improvements, and the institution’s policies on
appliances, smoking, open flames, and other potential hazards.

All students, faculty and staff are encouraged to read the annual report
and to report all criminal incidents promptly to EOSC Campus Police.
