Hello, 

 

My name is Rachel Pankuch, and I am the Intern Coordinator for the
Washington, D.C. Office of Senator James M. Inhofe. We offer a legislative
and press internship in four sessions throughout the year - a spring and
fall semester internship for 10-12 weeks, and two 5-week sessions in the
summer. The application portal can be found on our website at

Internship Program 

Interning is a wonderful opportunity to experience the federal government's
legislative branch first-hand while serving Oklahoma. Internships are open
to students of all majors with an interest in politics. Preference is given
to Oklahoma residents who have completed their sophomore year of college. 

 

Types of Internships 

Washington, D.C. Press Internship - The press intern will organize daily
news clips, draft social media posts, contribute to written press materials,
maintain press contacts and assist the press team in day-to-day activities. 

 

Washington, D.C. Legislative Internship - The legislative intern will attend
hearings and briefings, draft memos on critical research, sit in on
meetings, work directly with constituents, and assist the administrative
staff in day-to-day activities. 

 

Oklahoma City and Tulsa Internships - The state intern will coordinate with
the Washington, D.C. staff to assist constituents and process requests,
provide research for state staff and assist the administrative staff in
day-to-day activities. 

 



Requirements 

* Completed Application 

* Three Letters of Recommendation 

* Official or Unofficial Transcript 

* Resume 

* 2-3 Page Writing Sample
