Have you ever heard of Cherokee Purple Tomatoes?
Cherokee Purple tomatoes are an old heirloom, pre-1890, with mottled tones
of brown, green and yes, purple. While the exterior coloring may not be to
everyone's liking, it is now one of the most popular heirloom tomatoes
grown. The flesh of Cherokee Purple is a luscious deep, dark red and the
flavor is sublime, a perfect complement of sweet, acid, and savory topped
off with a hint of smoke.

In fact, these purple tomatoes are so well-known, our guest artist, Dylan
Stewart even has an entire song written about them!
MAKE SURE TO SAVE THE DATE FOR NEXT MONDAY, 7 PM, at BOONIES II to see
DYLAN STEWART, LIVE!
Here is what Dylan has to say about his song and Cherokee Purple Tomatoes:
Cherokee Purples is a song I wrote after the passing of my father. The
tomatoes, Cherokee Purples, are a delicacy for anyone whoβs tasted them.
You plant a seed, you tend its growth, it delivers these perfect tomatoes
for you to enjoy, but then seasons change. The temps drop, the plants die,
and you must excise patience until the spring time comes and you begin the
process all over again, like time being kind of a flat circle. The losing
of someone you love and itβs painful aftermath, later grows into the most
beautiful gratitude for their existence and the love you have for them
continues as well as your journey forward as seasons continue to change and
Cherokee purples come and go."
