MAY 11, 2011

Lunch for May 10:  Chicken Nuggets, corn on the cob, potato wedges, fruit
and milk.

Lunch for May 11:  Chili frito pie, carrot sticks, corn bread, fruit,
brownie and milk.

TMC for May 11:  SENIOR CLASS

Congratulations to the GHS Golf team – Trey Fankhouser, Wongsakorn
Pikunsawat, Matthew LeGrange, Garrett Marler, and Arron Costilla – for
winning State!  Also, congrats to Trey for his first place individual
medal!!

Academic Team Members- please stop by Mrs. Brandherm’s room sometime today.

Alma Folklórica is revamping for next year – if you are interested in
learning about the group, you AND a parent must attend a mandatory meeting
on Tuesday, May 17 at 6:30pm in the commons.

Students who need to makeup any EOI’s will need to test today afternoon or
Thursday morning.

Congratulations to the following students who qualified this past Saturday
for the State Track meet this Friday and Saturday:  Stefanie Almeida, Cai
Barias, Vanessa DeWilde, Lauren Gibson, Shelby Griffing and Katie Soliz.

Yearbook applications are now available in Mrs. Gift’s room and the office
for upcoming sophomores, juniors and seniors.  Stop by the office and pick
yours up today.

Congratulations to Bethany Burkhart who brought home overall grand champion
teen in Norman, OK at the Oklahoma Cinderella Pageant this weekend.

TODAY is the last day for Show Choir Tryouts from 3:45 to 6:00 both days.
See the signs around the building for more info.  If you have a conflict but
would like to tryout, see Mrs. Jett.

The following students need to meet at the pit on Thursday the 12th at

Mariah Spirlock, Adriana DeSantiago, Jenea Garcia, Kalisa Mora, Avenlee
Gahagan, Kacey Cobbitt, Marissa Rodriguez, Ruby Olivas, Rosemary Vicente.

Seaboard Foods is offering a High School Internship Program for students 16
years and older during the summer, anyone interested come by the office to
pickup an application.

Seniors-Mrs. Brandherm would like to add your senior picture to her wall.
If you have any senior pictures left, please drop one by her room.

Coach Brown needs all track uniforms and warm-ups by Today or you will get
ASD from the following students: Alan Williams, Hiram Villa, Jassiel Villa,
Juan Mendoza, Zaw Aung, Dakota Harris, Cory Nunez,Felipe Salinas and Jassen
Maldonado.

The library has many old magazines and books to be given away.  The
magazines include National Geographic, Time, Newsweek, and U.S. News, back
to the 1950’s.  If you would like to claim some before they are destroyed,
please do so this week.

Summer Alternative classes are being offered
 you can possibly earn up to 2
credits.  Applications are at the office (there is a fee of $50 per class to
enroll).  There are ONLY 40 spots available
 so this is a first come, first
serve situation.  Your application must be completed and turned in with the
fee before you are enrolled.  See Mrs. McKinnon if you have any questions.

SENIOR VIDEO ANNOUNCEMENT:  

1) SKITS: If you have an idea for a “skit” with yourself or some of your
friends, let Mrs. Behne, Jayson Coleman, or Gabby Costilla know by this
Thursday, May 12! Must be school-appropriate to be considered!! 

2) SIGNATURE RE-DO: We are re-doing your signature to be “animated” instead
of just written out like you did before. Please come by Mrs. Behne’s room
#111 during your lunch period, or before or after school for us to video
your signature before next Thursday, May 19!!

3) TRAILERS: Ask your teachers to turn on the Channel One TVs daily this
week through next week to see “trailers” for the Senior Video!!!

4) BACCALAUREATE: The Senior Video 2011 will be shown after Baccalaureate
services Wednesday, May 25 in the High School Auditorium.

5) DVD COPIES:  You will receive a FREE dvd copy of the Senior Video 2011 in
your “Senior Packet” which can be picked up on June 1st or when the office
returns to work in August. The “Senior Packet” is an envelope of things the
office has to give you, and your dvd will be in the packet.

ALL Juniors and Seniors planning to attend prom MUST sign up at the
office.Make sure that you sign your name, grade and your date's name and
grade/age.If your date is not a student of Guymon High School, you must take
a form to be filled out and returned to Mrs. Reynolds by Monday, May 16th.
All dates pay $10 unless they are seniors in our high school or if they are
juniors. All juniors from our high school must have worked for a ticket or
pay $70 to attend prom, even if they are going as a date of a senior. A list
is posted outside the library. Check the list for accuracy. Several people
have signed up but still owe money. If you find errors, please inform Mrs.
Reynolds before or after school, or between classes. Girls: Make sure that
your dress meets the Prom dress code. Students or dates showing up out of
dress code will be allowed to walk into prom and then will be escorted out
the side door. Please do not risk embarrassment by coming to prom
inappropriately dressed.

YMCA needs volunteers for the triathlon on Saturday the 14th at 7:30. 

TEACHERS INFORMATION:

Junior Sponsors: there is a sign up sheet in the teacher's lounge on the
cabinet doors. Please sign up to supervise prom decorating. I am asking for
four hours of time during the week, two shifts of two hours each. There is
also a note in your box. If you have ANY questions, please let me know.

Teachers: Please turn on your Channel One televisions at 10:00 for TMC, and
leave them on, for a special message from the Senior Video Production class.
