Subject: You are Invited to Present at Wis Distance Learning Conference
(short deadline)
The Wisconsin Distance Teaching and Learning Conference is the
largest and most important conference in the field. It is held in
August each year in Madison Wis. This year there will be a special
session entitled
"Using Internet2 for Distance Teaching and Learning". All the
presentations in that session will be done remotely via H.323 video
conferencing, and you are invited to be one of them. We are
soliciting proposals for presentations now, and 4 or 5 presentations
will be selected. Proposals should be 1-2 paragraphs long.
Note carefully - Because of program printing requirements, I must
receive your proposal by March 15. I know this is very short notice,
but this special session was just added to the conference.
The requirements are that you must be connected to Internet2 in some
way, and capable of H.323 conferencing at least at 768K (exceptions
to 768K are possible with good explanation). Your presentation must
describe an actual application that you have done or are doing using
Internet2 for distance teaching and learning. There will be a large
audience at the conference watching your presentation and interacting
with you. Preference will be given to proposals that include a high
degree of interactivity, involving more than one remote site, are
dynamic and interesting, and exploit Internet2.
Live demonstrations of DL are good. A single talking head is not good.
This special session is on Friday August 4, 2006, from 8:30am to
12:00 Noon Central Daylight Time.
Each presentation is no longer than 40 minutes long, including time
for questions. 30 minutes is the minimum. Describe how much time
you need.
Here are the details about the conference:

Please forward this to anyone you feel might be interested.
