The National Science Foundation has kicked off a $100-million campaign to

A series of grants will be distributed to seven coalitions of universities,

upping the use of technology in science classrooms, and training educators
to do science assessments.

One coalition is already underway at the University of Maryland College

Mid-Atlantic region.
The six other coalitions will be based out of Texas A&M University; WestEd,
a federal education laboratory in San Francisco; the University of
Wisconsin-Madison; the University of Tennessee, Knoxville; Montana State
University-Bozeman; and, the Exploratorium, a San Francisco museum.
