This is reminder as you begin your workshops for this summer to collect any necessary data for the evaluation component.
On page 6 of the RFP it states:
Each grant proposal must include a plan for program evaluation. At the time of final budget report submission, a final assessment report, based upon this plan, must be submitted, before the remaining balance of the grant will be paid. At a minimum, this report should include: (1) a description of the activities undertaken; (2) an enumeration of the population served, with special attention given to the access extended to private school personnel, as well as representatives of historically underserved and underrepresented groups; and (3) an objective evaluation of the effectiveness of the grant activity as measured against the program's objectives established in the grant proposal. Each project must also include the number of teachers or administrators who work in Title I school-wide schools, or in schools with high Title I targeted assistance. Identification of these schools is available through the State Department of Education. Institutions not providing the report or any other reports required by th
State Regents in accordance with the federal regulations will jeopardize future funding opportunities from the Eisenhower program. At this time, copies of any publications or materials that resulted from the grant should be submitted along with a summary financial statement detailing revenues and expenditures by accounting object. Form ESEA SR00-01 will be used as part of this reporting process.
Pay special attention to collecting data about the participants: contact info, whether their schools are Title I, GEAR UP, and/or Low-Performing/High Challenge schools, info about the populations at their schools (ethnicity, poverty, etc.), etc.
IN ADDITION, each of your proposals described specific ways that you would be handling formative and summative evaluations. Please remember to complete these components during the workshops and include the results in your reports.
AS A FINAL NOTE, we are planning to conduct a longitudinal study of ALL the Eisenhower projects funded in fiscal years 1999-2001. To assist with this project, please locate any and all records pertaining to funded projects. An external evaluator may be contacting you this fall to review your documents and/or contact some of your participants (past and present). We appreciate your cooperation in this endeavor to ensure that the Eisenhower projects are meeting the federal and state goals. Please forward this part of the message to anyone as needed (Research/Grants department, colleagues you have had IKE grants in the past, etc.).
