We have scheduled our Stafford Loan second
disbursement of the 8/20/01 to 5/10/02
loan period for January 2, 2002. The first day of
classes for the Spring 2002 semester
is January 14, 2002.

Because of system batching schedules, we are aware
some lenders may not be ready to disburse funds on January 2. If you need
to delay your transmission until January 3 for this reason, please advise me
& Mary Ellen (mtasier at ou.edu) via e-mail so we will not be concerned if your
data/funds are not received on January 2. We would prefer to receive
disbursements January 2 if possible to allow us sufficient time to review
any disbursements that trip one of our EFT edits (overaward, etc.) and
resolve the problem before the end of business on Friday, January 4. This
would enable us to have as many disbursements ready for the students on
Monday, January 7 as possible.
> Because our Spring 2002 semester does not begin until
> January 14, we cannot request EFT funds before January 2 (13 days), and we
> will begin releasing funds to students on Monday, January 7. (We will
> resume our daily ACH transmissions of cash disbursements to student bank
> accounts on Tuesday, January 8. This has nothing to do with Stafford Loan
> EFTs, but it might be helpful for teller staff, etc., at your bank to
> know.)

> didn't happen, but better playing in the Cotton Bowl than the Toilet Bowl.
