[MainstreetManagers] Bring Small Business Saturday to your Main Street

Yukon is keeping it simple with a handout of all participating businesses and their special, features, etc. for the day.
We are also planning a selfie, photo contest with prizes being $25 gift certificates to participating businesses.

The promotions committee will meet on Monday for a bag packing party (I bribe them with soup lunch ☺) and then begin delivering the bags and promotional items that afternoon and Tuesday.  My goal was to have everything ready to go by Wednesday so the focus is on the businesses come Saturday.

I do like the idea that was in the email this morning of having a welcome center.  That may be in the plans for next year.

Good morning.  The National Main Street Center is once again partnering with American Express to help get the word out about Small Business Saturday and the Neighborhood Champion program.  Neighborhood Champions are business associations, state and local chambers of commerce, businesses and other community organizers who are willing to commit to organizing events or activities to rally their neighborhoods for Small Business Saturday.  As an extra incentive, the state Main Street program with the most Neighborhood Champions this year will get priority seating at the Opening Plenary at the National Conference.
