Good morning.  Please let me know if you are not going to be able to pick up your name badge by the time registration closes at 11:45 tomorrow.  I can pick them up and take them to the tour.

Here is the basic schedule for the downtown tour -



Event:                   "An Afternoon in Downtown Chickasha" Historic Preservation Program

Time:                     1:30pm-5:00pm

                                The University of Oklahoma/Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture/Institute for

Quality Communities Staff  (IQC)



1:30pm                 Park in area of State Street and West Chickasha Avenue.  Meet at the Rock Island Depot.



1:50pm                 Tour buildings in 100 Block of West Chickasha Avenue that are being redeveloped by CMSWillowbrook.



2:30pm                 Tour Chickasha Hotel Apartments Lobby, 102 North 2nd Street (and entry off West Chickasha Avenue)



2:45pm                 The First National Bank & Trust Lobby (Art Deco), 302 West Chickasha Avenue



3:10pm                 Tour of Washita Theater/Chickasha Community Theatre, 509 West Chickasha Avenue

·         Refreshments available sponsored by the Oklahoma Main Street Foundation



3:40pm                 Tour Crazy 8 Café (under construction)  317 West Chickasha Avenue


4:05pm                Tour of U.S. Post Office and Courthouse (now Chickasha City Hall) (National Register), 117 North 4th Street



4:20pm                 Tour downtown Chickasha on your own.  Recommended stops:

·         Ross Seed Company (old-fashioned feed and seed store), 412 West Choctaw Avenue, Open until 6pm.

·         Ross True Value Hardware, (old-fashioned hardware store), 412 West Choctaw Avenue, Open until 6pm.

·         Hick's Company (landmark western wear and department store), 410 West Choctaw Avenue, Open until 6pm.



5:00pm                 Official end of tour, return to Rock Island Depot.
