Hello, Everyone!

I hit a big ol snag today that I was not expecting to with a St Patrick's
Day Pub Crawl. Turns out, people are not allowed to buy tickets and use
that to get their drink according to ABLE. We had no idea and none of our
bars mentioned they were not allowed to "give" away beer. Those of you who
do Pub Crawls or "Ale Trail", etc. What am I missing in the process to make
it ok? Are you setting up bar tabs? Is there some sort of permit we as an
organization needs, even though the event is not on public property?

Hi there!

I’ve had a lot of questions about what is required of those participating ….so I thought I would send along a sampling of pictures that might help explain.  And, long-term directors – feel free to chime in. I’m looking at you, Debbie Harrison. 😊

Towns have also traditional brought a gift of some sort for their legislators to enhance the odds of a photo opp. 😊

I’ve also attached a jpg for you to forward in email when you reach out to legislators yourselves. We are still working with marketing to get it out on our end.

There is also an event on FB.
In some of the pictures you can see table signs denoting the town name. Each of you will receive one that day reserving your table so it is not a free for all when it comes to tables. 😊

Ada Main Street is currently under construction for an 8 million dollar
streetscape project. I have not been notified of any new electric
vehicle charging stations. Currently, the city of Ada in Oklahoma has 20
public charging stations. Ada has a total of 8 DC Fast Chargers.

I wanted you to know that the grant program, Backing Historic Small Restaurants<https://savingplaces.org/historicrestaurants> - presented by American Express in partnership with the National Trust for Historic Preservation - is back for another round and now accepting applications.  The deadline for submissions is Monday, April 4 at 11:59 p.m. EST.  Program information and link to the application can be found here:

For this grant program, we need your help to identify iconic restaurants located in historic buildings that are anchors of their historic neighborhoods! 25 small restaurants will receive $40,000 in grant funds.


Grant Selection Criteria for Eligible U.S. Small Historic Restaurants:

  *   Have operated and contributed to the neighborhood's history and/or identity for at least 25 years.
  *   Are a small/independently owned restaurant located in a historic building and/or historic neighborhood.
  *   Have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic and/or disasters, or other hardships.
  *   Tells a diverse story about cuisine and community in America.



These grant funds can be used for "sprucing up" the exteriors of the restaurants as well as general operations support for these important community anchors.

Yes, Sapulpa does.  The cost is $15 but they don't issue them to schools,
non-profits or churches.

Good afternoon Main Street.

This is just a reminder to register for the conference if you haven't already.  New Main Street executive directors are required to attend the Main Street Now Conference at the first available opportunity after accepting the position even if the out-going director attended the conference the previous year.  Otherwise, Main Street programs are required to attend every other year.

MS 101 is scheduled for Sunday, May 15 and is required for all new directors.

Registration

  *   Registration opens the first week of February and early bird rates close at 11:59pm March 14.
  *   Hotel blocks will open the same time as registration
     *   Hilton Richmond Downtown
     *   Richmond Marriott Downtown

On-Site COVID Protocols

  *   Vaccines or proof of negative test will be required for all attendees and speakers - data and verification to be collected & managed via a vetted third party partner
  *   Masks are required in all public places while not actively eating or drinking
  *   Where possible, more spacing between seats in education session rooms
  *   Implementation of a color code system to notify attendees on amount of interaction desired
