This is just a reminder about the DOT grant shared on The Point and it can be used for streetscapes. It closes on December 6th and I already signed a letter of support for Oklahoma through the National Main Street Center. Below is the post from The Point and a link. Hi all, I wanted to pass on some info about a new grant opportunity from the Department of Transportation that will provide communities with two years of capacity building, planning, and technical assistance to compete for federal aid and deliver quality infrastructure projects. The Thriving Communities Program (TCP) aims to ensure that disadvantaged communities have the technical tools and organizational capacity to plan and develop transportation and community revitalization activities. It aims to ensure that under-resourced communities can access infrastructure funding provided in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). Communities interested in receiving technical assistance can submit a Letter of Interest (LOI) in partnership with at least two other local or state organizations by 11:59pm ET Dec. 6. * Eligibility: LOIs must be submitted by a state, local, or Tribal unit of government or similar; nonprofit Main Street programs can encourage local or state governments to apply and be a part of the local partnership. Applicants must include a lead applicant and at least two community partner organizations. * The program is targeting disadvantaged communities. DOT has provided this document to help communities determine which status(es) might apply to them. * View a webinar for communities interested in applying for TA here. * Learn more about submitting a Letter of Interest here. If you have any questions I will do my best to answer them!
