Support a Historic Small Restaurant
Now in its third year, the Backing Historic Small Restaurants Grant Program is once again on a national search for beloved local eateries that help tell a diverse story about cuisine and community in America.

Together with American Express, we will award $1 million in grants to 25 historic and culturally significant restaurants throughout the United States to help them improve, upgrade, and preserve their exterior physical spaces and online businesses. This program seeks to assist a broad array of restaurants that contribute to their neighborhood's history and identity.

And we want to hear from you!

We invite you to use this form to tell us about the historic restaurants that are near and dear to your heart, and could use a little TLC to stay up and running.

Submissions are due March 12, 2023, Buffy is happy to include a letter of support from OKMS.

The National Park Service's Tribal Heritage Grants Program (THG) is now accepting applications for competitive grants. National Park Service's Tribal Heritage Grants Program focuses on protecting oral histories, plant and animal species important in tradition, sacred and historic places, and enabling the establishment of tribal historic preservation offices. The THG Program is funded by the Historic Preservation Fund (HPF) and is administered by the NPS. Congress has appropriated $500,000 for the THG Program.  Since 1990, more than $17 million has been awarded to over 460 Indian communities and Alaska Native Villages/Corporations.

Available Grant Funding
Grants are awarded through a competitive process and do not require non-Federal match. Federally-recognized Indian Tribes, Native Alaska Villages/Corporations, and Native Hawaiian Organizations (as defined by 54 U.S.C. § 300309, 54 U.S.C. 300313, and 54 U.S.C. 300314) are eligible to receive THGs for cultural and historic preservation projects.
