We are January to December. We do however do our partnerships from the month the join to the same month the following year. If you are a partner June 2025 your partnership is good through June 2026.

Good afternoon Main Street.
Attached is a great funding stream and terminology chart that Tamara developed. Also, attached are investment/partnership brochures from Altus and Lee’s Summit. Please note that investors do not get anything (number of social media posts, mentions, etc.) for their support because Main Street is not a membership based organization such as a Chamber of Commerce.
I just uploaded “Turning Supporters Into Donors” to the portal under the Organization/Fundraising folder. It’s all about creating an investor campaign, and the IRS + 501(c)3 status + the use of the word “member”. It is well worth the read.

For PCMS we use Membership Works for our investment platform. It is overall very user friendly, and the staff have been extremely helpful and quick to respond when we have needed them. I would recommend them if you are looking for a platform to use that is cost effective but still very good quality. It is integrated into our website as well which is great! It also updates in real time. ??

Lakelynn, I have included the answers I have to your questions specifically below-
1. Do you follow a calendar year cycle (January 1 – December 31) or a fiscal year cycle (June 1 – July 31)? We follow a calendar year for our investment and a fiscal year for our financials. We have our investment benefits fit into that according with specific event sponsorships reflected for the next fiscal year.
2. Do you prorate membership fees if someone joins in the middle of the year? We do not prorate but we do have a pay by month option that many of our small businesses use to help split the cost. This is all set up directly through Membership Works and the investor can select their level and billing from there. If we have a new investor join in the later part of the year (usually after Nov. 1st) I will bump their renewal date to the following year (if they ask) and as warranted. If someone asked about a prorated membership rate I would be willing to work with them though to gain the new investment.
3. Do you only accept new members at the beginning of your billing cycle, or are memberships open year-round? Year round! As a non-profit we are always looking to gain additional investments and will work with new investors on a case-by-case basis to fit their needs.
