Hello Buffy,
My name is Sarah Rhodes, and I’m the new Director for Okmulgee Main Street. I wanted to introduce myself! I had the opportunity to meet with Tamara last week, and I’m currently getting caught up to speed on several of our Main Street projects and programs. I’m new to all of this, but I’m eager to learn!
I did have a question regarding the upcoming MSIP application period.
My understanding is that Okmulgee Main Street previously received MSIP funding for an archway project that is currently still in progress and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Our board is interested in potentially applying for MSIP funding for another project this upcoming cycle. Are we eligible to apply for a new project while our current MSIP-funded project is still being completed, or does the existing project need to be fully completed and closed out before we can apply again?
I just want to make sure I understand the process correctly before I let you know whether Okmulgee should be included on the list of communities planning to apply this year.

Sapulpa will be asking for the $150,000.  It will be used for sidewalk replacement on Water St.  & Park St. from Hobson St. - Lee St.

I’ve heard from the following Main Street communities that plan to apply for an MSIP project:

  *   Freedom
  *   Jenks
  *   Kendall Whittier
  *   Muskogee
  *   Owasso
  *   Perry
  *   Ponca City
  *   SOBO Tulsa
  *   Tahlequah

If you plan to apply for an MSIP project and are not on the list, please let me know by close of business tomorrow.

All I need at this point is:

  *   A very brief project description (one sentence)
  *   The amount you plan to request

We must report anticipated projects and requested amounts to the Oklahoma Finance Authority, so your response will help us provide an accurate projection.

As I mentioned on Tuesday’s call, I would appreciate knowing if you plan to submit an MSIP project this year. The application period opens September 1.

This information will be very helpful as Jon Chiappe prepares to address the Oklahoma Finance Authority Board next month. Please send the information to me or Karla by August 19.

All we need at this point is:

  *   Brief project description – One sentence is fine.
  *   Amount you plan to request

Please keep in mind that you are not committed to the project or amount at this point. You can make changes as you develop your application. We simply want to give Jon and the Board an idea of what to expect.
