[MainstreetManagers] Survey and Advocacy

Dear Main Street Directors,

Please disregard the email that was sent in error earlier, which included a survey requesting confidential information. Emails of that nature will only be sent directly from the Oklahoma Main Street Center.

Advocacy efforts are a coordinated partnership between Main Street America, the Oklahoma Main Street Center, and our local programs. I am currently working with Kelly Humrichouser to develop an advocacy plan, and we held our first planning meeting on Tuesday.

Next month, Chris Wilson (Main Street America Board Member), Heather Turner (Deputy CEO, Oklahoma Department of Commerce), and I will be traveling to Washington, D.C. to meet with Oklahoma's U.S. Senators and Congressional members to advocate for Main Street. As part of this effort, the Oklahoma Main Street Center is developing one-pagers for each Senator and Congressperson that highlight key information and impacts from their districts. We will also be creating similar materials for state Senators and Representatives.

A survey will be sent in January to help support this advocacy work. That survey will include questions to assist the overall effort, along with our standard director and program questions.

All of these topics-including advocacy coordination and preparation for the 2027 Main Street Incentive Program-will be discussed during our Zoom call on Tuesday, January 20.
