Just wanted to share two opportunities that have come across my desk:


The Citizens' Institute on Rural Design<https://www.rural-design.org/> is seeking workshop host communities in 2018. The CIRD program employs design solutions to address economic vitality and quality of life challenges in rural communities and small towns in all regions of the country. CIRD convenes workshops with design professionals, local leaders, community organizations, and residents to create a plan for tackling issues around three topic areas-multimodal transportation, healthy living by design, and Main Street revitalization. The Oklahoma Arts Council has recently signed on as a partner of the Southwest Creative Placemaking Leadership Summit<https://www.cplsummit.org/southwest> to be held in Denver, CO April 6-7, 2018.  Key topics will explore entrepreneurship, funding, and equity in mountain communities, frontier towns, and latino communities. Planners, activists, gallery owners, universities, municipal arts departments, social practice artists, and Main Street Organizations are encouraged to register.  Take advantage of the early bird registration rate through January 20th.
