The ones upset will get over it. Unless it was on property that doesn't allow political campaigning - and even then, it sounds like they weren't campaigning so I'd leave them in the photos. No ordinances were broken. The only thing that is hard is the potential backlash. Our response was that we are not endorsing any candidates, but if you'd like to pony up a $2,500 sponsorship we would love to hang your banner at our events as well. They paid for their spot just like everyone else. We are a small community and the two candidates have really helped us out in terms of other sponsorship's for our organization. Our response may seem brash, but we all have "those people" in our communities. As long as they aren’t campaigning (vote for me T-shirt’s are an exclusion), then we allow anyone to participate UNLESS we find the other platform to consist of hate speech, discrimination, etc. This is a serious issue... On a funny note, I once had an elderly lady tell me I shouldn’t allow the Exotic Toy Motorcycle club in the Christmas Parade... I had to explain to her Exotic Toys aren’t anything, um, inappropriate. But we do use PayPal for several things! You can create buttons for one-time any amount donations, specific amounts, or payment subscriptions. We have some members who are on the automatic subscription of monthly payments. We also have an option to split up a $100 donation into 4 monthly payments. It automatically stops after those 4 payments. The only drawback I know of is dealing with the fees and accounting. Oklahoma is fortunate to be one of 3 states to participate in the pilot of this program. The project brings an innovative approach to addressing business and workforce development at no cost to the region, thanks to a Walmart grant to the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service. Because this is a pilot program, only one region will be selected to participate from Oklahoma. Regions must apply to participate in the program by August 3, 2018 at 5 pm Central Daylight Time.
