Deadlines Approaching for Two NEA Grant Programs Two grant programs of the National Endowment for the Arts have upcoming deadlines. Oklahoma organizations presenting arts and cultural programs or planning creative place-based design projects are encouraged to apply. Deadlines are approaching in two grant categories: * Art Works - grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 are available to support a wide variety of activities across disciplines. Deadline to apply for an Art Works grant is July 12. * Our Town - grants ranging from $25,000 to $200,000 can support the engagement, planning, and design of projects that feature art and cultural assets as tools for improving quality of life in communities. THE MY BROTHER'S KEEPER (MBK) COMMUNITY CHALLENGE is a national competition offering grants to identify several cities, towns, counties, and Tribal Nations that have the potential to substantially improve life outcomes for boys and young men of color, especially outcomes related to reducing youth violence and growing the pipeline of mentors. The Challenge is seeking to work in partnership with communities that can identify and implement evidence-based programs and a specific goal over two years to reduce youth violence or leverage mentors to address milestone-specific challenges. Two categories of grants, ranging from $25,000 to $500,000, are being offered. Eligible grantees are high-performing U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations with strong leadership and a track record of success in driving collective impact efforts locally, initiating program development, and expanding policies and practices that enhance equity and opportunity for boys and young men of color. Assistant to the Secretary for USDA Rural Development Anne Hazlett unveiled a new interactive webpage to identify best practices for building rural prosperity. After you go to http://okcommerce.gov/community/main-street/ and hit the link for the Main Street map, roll over your community and you will see two new links for demographics and Exec Summary. This is ESRI information ...that is at your fingertips whenever you need it or want to know more about each of our communities. It may take a minute to load (and may tell you it's not responding) but hang tight...it will eventually load. Once in the reports, some of the links don't work quite yet (we are aware of the situation and having it looked into).....
