Good afternoon,

With just a few weeks left until this deadline, we wanted to follow up to gauge interest and make one last push to encourage Oklahoma communities to apply for this opportunity. A recorded webinar and PowerPoint presentation on how to apply are available on the website<https://www.rural-design.org/apply>, and another open office hours session is available through Facebook next week on Wednesday, July 10th from 1:00-2:00pm ET/12:00-1:00pm CT.

To date, <https://www.rural-design.org/where-we-work> CIRD has not conducted workshops in any Oklahoma communities<https://www.rural-design.org/where-we-work>, and we are hoping to change that. The Oklahoma Arts Council is strongly encouraging all interested communities across the state to apply for the learning cohort opportunity regardless of whether there is a specifically identified design challenge or not. If you do have a design challenge, please consider applying to host a workshop. We are also reaching out to have conversations with the NEA and CIRD to let them know more about the work we have witnessed in Oklahoma communities like yours demonstrating readiness to take on this kind of work.

If you have not already, please check out the website linked above as well as the attached Request for Applications and strongly consider applying or passing along to communities you know who may be interested. Please let us know if you do to apply so we can have a sense of how many communities are actively pursuing this opportunity as we communicate with the NEA and CIRD.

Best,

Good morning,

I hope this note finds you doing well. Just wanted to share this national opportunity that came across my desk. The Citizens’ Institute on Rural Design™ will continue its tradition of offering local design workshops that address specific community challenges, and also create a new cohort learning program that will engage rural leaders from up to 20 additional communities. All rural communities of 50,000 or less are eligible to apply for the CIRD local workshop and learning cohort opportunities. Applications are encouraged from nonprofits, tribal or municipal governments, regional planning organizations, and other community partners. For more information, please see the attached call for applications, or visit the CIRD website<https://www.rural-design.org/apply>.

Best,
