** Community Event

Calling all community members!  Join us for this "dinner and a vote" event at the Okmulgee Community Center on March 14th at 6:00 PM.  Visit with and listen to renowned mural artists, all vying for the opportunity to create the next piece of public art in downtown Okmulgee.
Okmulgee Main Street, sponsored by funding from Okmulgee Tourism, will present the finalist in this year's Okmulgee Mural Project.  This year, artist finalists will present portfolios of past work and will have free reign to create public art without a theme.
The community will VOTE on which artist will return to paint the next Okmulgee mural which will be located downtown at 6th & Porter on the east side of the Homeless Shelter Thrift Shop. After the event, the artist will work with Okmulgee Main Street Design Committee to create the new mural design. The mural will be painted on a date yet to be determined, but before the end of June.
