[Oacrao-l] help on IELTS

I just looked at my notes and we use 5.5 IELTS for undergrad admission and 6.5 for graduate admission.  To be honest with you, I have not paid attention to the updates in the procedures  manual, so who am I to respond!?!
I have had very few (less than 5 in 15 years) who have come to us using IELTS scores.

Hi Pamla,
I don't ever recall seeing this change on the listserv (nor did I see it on a quick search of any email referencing IELTS); however, I did see the change documented in the Chapter 3 of the Policy Manuel last month, when I was looking for something else. While I have inquired as to whether or not we will be changing our requirements, at this time OSU is still using the 6.0 for undergraduate admission, and I believe our graduate college is using a 6.5 overall band score.

Hello all,

I hope you can all help me out on an issue that I need a very QUICK answer on.  We are preparing to admit a number of international students and are looking at how we will satisfy their language proficiency requirement.  The minimum score we use for IELTS is 6.0 for both graduate and undergraduate students.  Last week I discovered that the OSRHE procedures manual now reflects a 5.0 as the minimum score.  I checked and Gina said we were notified in the spring that this changed via OACRAO-l.  Can you tell me what IELTS score you use and when you received the notification that it changed from 6 to 5?  I wonder if I am not getting the updates.  I get the ones on policy but not things that change in the procedures like this.

Thanks for your speedy response.  Time is working against me on this one so I am relying on my OACRAO friends to set me straight!
